Modelling has very demanding physical requirements.
If you are a woman over 5 foot six or a man over 5 foot ten with a well-proportioned
body, perfect skin, teeth and hair; if you move well and photograph exceptionally,
it is possible that you could be a model. If you differ from the requirements
in any way, a career is that much less likely.
Despite what unethical agencies tell you, there is almost no market
for plus figure or petite models; seniors modelling tend to be done by
experienced models who have been in the business for years. Unethical
agencies will often claim to be able to promote you for catalogue work
- in fact, catalogue work is extremely competitive - it requires models
to fit certain standard sizes and is considered the bread-and-butter of
the modelling industry.
